Client

Dance competitions are a wonderful way for young dancers to grow their skills while gaining valuable stage experience. Like most dance competitions, this group maintained an intense, 80+ city schedule of regional events and national finals.

Problem

A dance competition tour is a massive logistical undertaking. Each weekend, comps are taking place concurrently in different cities, each requiring on-site staff and specialized staging and equipment.  By outsourcing hotel procurement for their tours, this company was able to save valuable planning time and reduce their staffing needs.

Strategy & approach

Tools & methods used

The typical dance tour is  a series of multi-day competitions that take place every weekend from early January through mid-July. The tour season is densely packed with multiple competitions being held concurrently in cities across the US where judges will see performances by hundreds of dancers in each city.

Given the intensity of the schedule, having a reliable and professional team to handle logistics is essential. By outsourcing their hotel accommodation procurement,  this dance company saved their in-house team countless hours and allowed them to reduce headcount for their year-round staff.
