Client
A scholarly association dedicated to studying the history of Christianity and how it relates to culture in all time periods, locations, and contexts.

Problem
- Need to maximize limited financial resources
- Encourage membership by providing a valuable educational experience
- Deliver a high-quality experience that is meaningful to membership
Strategy & approach
Tools & methods used
- Conduct a thorough, competitive search for hotels
- Negotiate reduced rates, comp rooms, and other discounted services
- Contract for generous attrition and cancellation terms
- Vigorously advocate on behalf of client from contract to execution
Individual hotel reservations can be made through any numbers of online websites, but meetings and group accommodations are handled through a hotel’s sales department and secured via a contract. Understanding how to navigate the sales process can require specialized knowledge to get the best deal.
By negotiating for both hard dollars concessions and discounts, along with “soft dollar” upgrades, we saved the client thousands of dollars that reduced the overall cost of their conference and allowed them to use upgraded accommodations and other “perks” to deliver a better experience for their attendees..
